Our Purpose

GCA is a vital part of the total ministry of Evangel Temple Assembly  of God Church, and is open to families who desire their children to learn and grow in harmony with the Word of God.  Gahanna Christian Academy presents, without apology, the truth about Jesus Christ as it is revealed in His Word.  Students attending Gahanna Christian Academy are encouraged and inspired to make lifetime commitments to Christ and to Christian principles under the  leadership of the Holy Spirit. Our school shall clearly emphasize love for country, church, Christian fellowship and friends.

GCA is viewed as a partner of the Christian home and the evangelical churches of the community, completing a triangle of Godly influence upon the community. We admit students whose families pledge to support the philosophies, purposes and statements of faith of the school. Older students must give evidence that it is their personal desire to be enrolled in a Christian school. Those families that desire to have their children attend GCA must be active in a Christian church of their choice.

Testing fee - Grades K-12 (non-refundable)
Registration Fee - Grades K-12 (non-refundable)
Facility Fee - Grades K-12 (non-refundable) per family
Tuition - Special tuition rates are available to multi-student families and to full time ordained ministers
Payment Plans - four available, due on the 15th of the month, late fee after the 20th
    Annual - 5% discount
    Semi-annual - 2.5% discount
    10 month payments
    12 month payments

Extra Curricular Fees:

    Various fees are required to participate in athletics
    Some classes require lab fees.

Hot Lunch Program - mandatory unless medically excused

Extended Care:
    This program is available to K-6th grade students from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. Space is limited,     so students are enrolled based on the date of application submission. Call for the current fee.

Teacher Qualifications

Each teacher must be a born-again Christian who attends church faithfully. Teachers have a four year degree and are certified from an accredited college or university. They must also be certified by the State of Ohio.

Entrance Testing

All new students enrolling at GCA are required to take an entrance test that takes approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on the grade level. These tests provide an assessment of the student's current academic standing.

Curriculum

Gahanna Christian Academy is chartered by the Ohio Department of Education. Most of our textbooks are purchased from Christian publishers. The Bible is a major subject and is taught each day and incorporated at the appropriate level of each class. Once a week the student body attends a Chapel worship service geared to their level. Chapel services range from 25 to 45 minutes in duration.

Transportation

Transportation to and from GCA is provided either by parents of the local school district in which the student resides. Contact your school districts transportation office for the availability in your area.

Dress Code

Students at GCA wear uniforms. The uniform for both boys and girls is comprised of several different selections of color, style and material. This alleviates peer pressure and is a help to parents buying school clothes.

Class Size

Class sizes range from 15-28 students. Elementary classes over 25 will have an aide to assist the teacher.

Environment

Respect for teachers and other students creates a disciplined atmosphere conducive to learning. We have a student code of conduct that is explained in the student handbook.

Facilities

Gahanna Christian Academy is housed in three buildings. Our elementary building houses grades 1-5 plus the cafeteria and library. The middle/high school building houses grades 6-12 plus the gymnasium, art room, music room, computer lab and science lab. The Preschool and Kindergarten classes are housed in modules.
